The week takes place every year in May, coinciding with International Coeliac Day (May 16).
Nine days to shine a spotlight on the false myths and countless fake news that often contribute to misinformation, lack of knowledge about coeliac disease, and consequently the needs and rights of patients.
The events consists of a packed schedule of appointments dedicated to people with coeliac disease and beyond, thanks to the events and initiatives organized by the 21 territorial branches of AIC.

The ONCE coupon in Spain refers to the daily lottery draw organized by the National Organization of Spanish Blind People (Organización Nacional de Ciegos Españoles - ONCE).
On May 16th the International Coeliac Disease Day is featured on the ONCE coupon to commemorate this important day and also that Federación de Asociaciones de Celíacos de España (FACE) have their 30th anniversary this year.
This action is part of the activities that FACE and the coeliac associations integrated into FACE are carrying out throughout the month of May.

What actually happens in the gastrointestinal tract, and how do you know if you have irritable bowel syndrome? And most importantly: What can you do about it?
Lotte Fynne is a specialist in gastrointestinal disorders and a lively communicator on the subject. Together with specialist nurse Gerd Johnsen, she has published the book "From End to End" about bowel problems.
At the webinar, Lotte Fynne will go through the gastrointestinal tract and talk about bowel disturbances, especially constipation and irritable bowel syndrome.
The event is reserved for members of the Danish Coeliac Society and registration beforehand is mandatory.

Making coeliac bracelets

The Swedish Celiac Association and SCUF - Swedish Celiac Youth Association invites to a coeliac afternoon. There will be an opportunity to make celiac bracelets for a symbolic amount where all proceeds will go in full to the Celiac Fund - which raises funds for Swedish research on celiac disease.
In addition to beading, there will be lectures and gluten-free treats from ICA, Fria, Wellibites, Schär, and Coop. There will also be gluten-free lottery tickets sold to benefit the Celiac Fund.
